ライヴ音源集「BBC Sessions」リリース決定
歴史ある、そして錚々たるアーティストたちが出演してきているBBCライヴ。同ライヴでGreen Dayがパフォーマンスした際の音源がマスタリングされ、全16曲をまとめた音源集「BBC Sessions」が12/10に全世界同時リリースされることが発表された。
ライヴ時期としては1994～2001年と、だいぶ初期の頃。特に一番古い1994年6月8に収録された音源は、あの誰もが知る名盤「Dookie」のリリースから約4ヶ月と、今まさに世界的バンドへの階段を駆け上がらんとするGreen Dayの渾身のライヴとなっていることだろう。
そしてリリースの発表と同時に、同音源集に収録される「2000 Light Years Away」が先行配信リリースされている。

今や実績的にも年齢的にも大御所の粋に達しつつあるGreen Dayだが、20年以上前の若さと勢いで突き進んでいた頃の音源を聴いてみることは、リスナーにとってもいい経験になりそうだ。
